CINNAMON- APPLE PANCAKES AND SYRUP
CINNAMON-APPLE SYRUP OVER APPLE-CINNAMON PANCAKES
6 cups apple juice
3 cinnamon sticks, broken
7 cups sugar (the more sugar you use the thicker the syrup)
4 cups water
3 cups light Karo syrup
1/4 cup lemon juice
6 pint size canning jars with lids
2 cups pancake mix ( just add water)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup grated apple
In a large sauce pan combine apple juice and broken cinnamon sticks. Simmer for 5 minutes and set aside. In a medium sauce pan combine sugar and water. Boil to 260 degrees F. Add sugar mixture to the apple juice. Stir in the Karo syrup. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks. Add lemon juice and mix well. Pour into sterilized canning jars and seal properly. Can for 10 minutes. Add 1 minute for every 1,000 feet above an altitude of 1,000 feet.

combine sugar and water and boil to 260 degrees F.
Combine sugar mixture and apple juice and stir in Karo syrup. Boil for 5 minutes
Remove cinnamon sticks and add lemon juice.
You are ready to can the syrup
For a small batch, you can sterilize your jars on the stove top. I usually use the sanitize cycle on the dishwasher. Remember to review the proper canning instruction link for first time at canning.
Always remember to clean the rim of the canning jars with a clean hot wet cloth
The syrup is sweet and delicious
Prepare 1 cup grated apple
combine cinnamon and pancake mix
add water to desired thickness
add grated apple
Pour 1/2 cup batter into heated pan sprayed with cooking spray
cook on medium heat, flip when edges are firm
top with butter and syrup
