This is our Holiday Nog we serve at our Christmas Party every year.
HOT CANDY CANE NOG
6 cups milk
20 chocolate-covered peppermint patties (more or less, depends on your taste)
vanilla or chocolate ice cream
Pour milk into a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until hot but not boiling (about 180 degrees). Pour 2 cups hot milk into blender; add peppermint patties. Cover and process on low speed until smooth. Add peppermint mixture to remaining milk in saucepan. Cook until heated through (about 140 degrees). Pour into mugs. Top with a scoop of ice cream and a peppermint stick.
Peppermint patties; the more you use the more chocolate and peppermint tasting the nog will be. Do not use less than 8. That will give you a nice milky nog.
Heat milk in saucepan
Blend peppermint patties and 2 cups warm milk in blender on low speed until smooth
Add peppermint mixture to remaining milk in saucepan. Cook until heated through.
Pour into mugs. Top with a scoop of ice cream and a peppermint stick.
